Divinely Dramatic by Sandra L. Young BOOK Review and Tour

The great follow up to Divine Vintage and I can’t say enough wonderful things, bravo Ms. Sandra!

Marcy, who also works at Divine Vintage with her boss Tess (we met in Divine Vintage), has agreed to be the costumer on a play by Oscar Wilde. She may have bitten off more than she can chew when she begins to see an aura in the attic of the theater. Ultimately she gets cast as the leading lady and things get even more ghostly. Can she juggle being a costumer, actress and retail assistant or has she put too much on her plate?

I really loved this follow up! It gave me everything I want in a good read. Romance, paranormal, suspense and a great deal of character development. It had a nice pace and ultimately I could have finished much quicker but, I enjoyed taking my time. Very well done, a definite must read! Five stars for this paranormal romance reading gift!

Miranda Writes by Gail Ward Olmsted BOOK Review & Tour

Thank you to Gail and Kate with Kate Rock Book Tours for having me on this tour and the review copy! This story was brilliant and one I haven’t seen before, a breath of fresh air for the reading community!

Former Assistant DA Miranda Quinn has done good since being kicked out of the DA’s office. Her witness that was supposed to put a rapist behind bars left town and was never heard from. Suddenly a few years later, the witness calls her out of the blue saying the rapist struck again and she wants to help put him away. Miranda has been doing a podcast and blog and has become so successful that she’s offered a legal talk show.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. The subject matter, the way it was written, the energy and just the overall feeling as though you’re a fly on the wall in Miranda’s life. The story was well written and was easy to stay connected with. I liked the female power in this, the relationships and the feeling of wanting justice to be done. Five stars all the way! Definitely recommend!

Dark Blue Waves by Kimberly Sullivan BOOK Review & Tour

Special thanks to Kimberly and Kate with Kate Rock Book Tours for having me on this tour and for the review copy! If you’re a Jane Austen fan or a fan of literature from that time period, you absolutely NEED to grab this one! It is fiction but, it’s a truly wonderful story that would bring a smile to your face!

Janet Roberts dreams of a literary career but, her architect Father think it’s nonsense. He doesn’t understand her love of Jane Austen and her desire to be intertwined into the world of stories. One day she wakes up in Bath after a nasty head injury. Meeting one Emma Huntington and her brother, Sir Edward turns her world upside down.

Let me just say, beginning a large read (400+ pages), I would have begun reading earlier but, I was unaware of the page count. So, I began this book on Thursday. It’s Sunday and I just finished and it was THAT good, the writing was fantastic and made the pages fly by! The story was beautiful, hard at times because of the things Jane(t) had to go through but, the ending made it all up. Have you ever thought about time travel? Going back in time 200 years and experiencing life before modern medicine, before indoor plumbing and automobiles? This story brings it all together and has renewed my interest in finally sitting down and reading/finishing “Pride and Prejudice” from start to finish.

I absolutely LOVED this story and highly recommend; it has mystery, drama and suspense. It just flows so well and will keep your 100% invested all the way through. Five stars! Brilliant is truly a great word to describe this novel. I loved the literature woven into this story, the way the painting was the focus and the way to get Jane(t) back and forth between worlds.

Love Child #1 by Ashley Farley BOOK Tour/Review

The Virginia Vineyards Series #1

Special thanks to Ashley and Kate for always having me on these tours, it’s special to me and I appreciate you both!

Let’s chat about Ashley’s newest series, The Virginia Vineyards. With old favorites from The Hope Springs series, we’re able to dive right in and not feel overwhelmed because we already know some characters. I absolutely love that.

FYI: If you have NOT read The Hope Springs Series and want to (which I HIGHLY recommend ALL of Ashley’s books), then STOP right here! Spoiler alert for the end of that series!!

I love and appreciate that Ashley took a character from her last series that didn’t get to “finish her story” and brought her into her latest series. Ollie’s story was quite tragic in Hope Springs. Her brother murdered her parents for control of their vineyard in California. He is now behind bars and she is trying to make a fresh start, which is what our newest character, Casey is trying to do. Casey’s Mom has passed away and she’s beyond curious about her Dad. Where is he, what does he do-so, after reading the letter her Mother left her, she packs up her meager belongings and takes off in search of Daniel Love.

Lovely, the town that is, proves to be interesting and Casey seems to have an easy time settling in but, her fathers children prove to be anything but easy.

I absolutely LOVED LOVED this first installment! The way Ashley weaves the story by integrating the past with the present is amazing, the way she’s able to truly make you feel like you’re in the book is integral. The novel itself is creative and gives new breath to this new series, it’s not so focused on the old series but, gives just enough facts to make you feel at home. At home, that’s what I love most about Ashley’s writing. I never feel like I don’t know what’s going on, I never have to flip and realize I missed something. The characters and their stories just have a way of coming out perfectly.

Highly recommend this one..well, ALL of Ashley’s books! They read easily, fast and truly make you want to visit the gorgeousness that encompasses Virginia as well as the Carolinas (in previous books). Five stars all the way!
